How Trustworthy are Telephone Polls?

An on-line friend and sometime collaborator suggested this toon.

Joe read an article about the veracity of  "Polls and inadvertent skewing of the results."
Rasmussen, a polling company which sells and markets research data admitted that "robo-calls" aren't able to distinguish between an actual person responding and a dog who happened to knock the phone off the hook and randomly push buttons.

Hence, this toon:

Crime

Why do some crimes get covered by the media while others are ignored? Don't economically disadvantaged people deserve protection, too? I drew this toon after noticing that some crimes don't get any media (or national) attention at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun. Fast. Legit.
"The comical antics of the teens in the book kept me chuckling as I engaged with the characters in the kind of a tale I never tire of: the yearning quest for love that is real and satisfying. The short novel is an easy afternoon's pastime. And while the romance genre is notoriously rife with drivel, this book is well-written. Many writers struggle with tiresome, stilted dialogue. Fox has demonstrated an ability to manage naturally flowing speech. My last descriptor, "legit," some may argue against. No way do today's teenagers talk this squeaky clean. Maybe not. Fox has been able to capture the sometimes irreverent witticisms in teen dialogue without the profanity. A good balance. Mainly, though, my "legit" assessment is because of the memories this stirred for me. I am certainly not Fox's target audience -- not by decades, but I did fall in love once, and -- wow -- this story could have been my own." -review on Amazon Kindle

I'm excited. It's getting good reviews. I'm currently working on the second book in the series, My Brother is a Sea Serpent. I'll post it too when I'm finished.
I also have a teen romance book too (if you're interested.)

But--We're Yelling The Same Thing!!

Today, June 30, 2014, the Supreme Court made a ruling on the Hobby Lobby Case.
When I was on Twitter I noticed both sides of the issue are yelling the exact same thing.
So I tooned this:

Common Core (The founder explains it all. . .)

Side Note: I don't know if they're "Easter Eggs" of just little extras I add to my toons for my own amusement. But I was looking for "slogans" for Dr. Moore to have on her desk on an "Educational Site" for Common Core and I came upon the "reap what you sew, learn to grow" saying. Now, anyone who knows me KNOWS I am spelling challenged, but even I know that you reap what you SOW. I thought it was pretty hilarious that sow was spelled wrong on a education site.  (One of my readers suggested that "sew" was correct and that "reap" was a typo for "rip.")

Happy May Day, Seattle!

I don't think I'd like walking into a gaggle of anarchists, but they're fun to draw.

Random Meeting With An Old Friend

The idea for this toon came years ago when I met up for dinner with a good friend of mine from High School. She was driving an expen$ive late model car that had all "peace & freedom" bumper stickers pasted all over the back.

Muffin Toon: Obama Cheer Camp

I drew the original of this toon back in July 2008. Sadly, it is still current.
